Best pigeon books to read?

Looking for book recommendations on pigeon racing. Something comprehensive for someone still learning.

What books have helped you the most?

Classics worth reading:

  • “Racing Pigeons” by Dr. Colin Walker (Australian vet, excellent health info)
  • “The Widowhood Book” by Mark Gordon (if interested in that system)
  • “Winning with Pigeons” by Ad Schaerlaeckens
  • Old Squills annuals have great historical info

Also the online articles at PIPA and Winning Magazine website. Tons of free content.

Honestly, talking to experienced local fanciers taught me more than any book.

Books give theory. Sitting in someone’s loft watching them work teaches practice. Do both.
