Bird sleeps with head tucked back

One of my birds always sleeps with its head twisted around and tucked into its back feathers. Looks uncomfortable.

Is this normal or a neurological sign?

Head tucked into back feathers is NORMAL sleeping position for pigeons. It conserves heat.

Neurological signs would be:

  • Head twisted AND awake
  • Inability to straighten neck
  • Circling, loss of balance
  • Star gazing (head permanently tilted back)

If she wakes up and moves normally, she’s just sleeping comfortably.
