Federation meeting update - 2026 race schedule

For those in the Yorkshire Federation - we’ve finalized the 2026 race schedule.

Old Bird Season:

  • Starts April 18th
  • 12 races total
  • Distances from 80 to 520 miles
  • Channel race scheduled for June 14th

Young Bird Season:

  • Starts August 2nd
  • 8 races
  • Max distance 280 miles

Full schedule will be posted on the federation website next week. Entry forms available from January 1st.

Thanks Bill. Good to have the dates confirmed early.

The April 18th start is a bit later than last year. Was that deliberate?

Also - is the Channel race from the same release point as 2025?

Yes, later start was requested by several members. Better weather odds and gives breeders more time.

Channel race will be from Tours this year instead of Cholet. Slightly shorter but committee felt the release site was better.

Good schedule. Reasonable progression in distances.

Hope the weather cooperates better than 2025. That May smash was brutal.
