Struggling to give individual bird medication. Tablets and liquids.
Any tips on technique? Feel like I’m stressing the bird and myself.
For tablets: Open beak gently, place tablet at back of throat, hold beak closed and stroke throat until they swallow.
For liquids: Use a syringe, insert at side of beak (not center), dispense slowly. Too fast and they can aspirate.
Stay calm - birds sense your stress. Practice on healthy birds with water until you’re confident.
