Introducing myself - new fancier from Australia

G’day everyone!

Just found this forum and wanted to say hello. I’m James from Victoria, Australia.

Started with pigeons about 8 months ago after watching my neighbor’s birds for years. Finally took the plunge and bought 10 birds from a retiring fancier.

Still learning the basics - loft management, feeding, training. Haven’t raced yet but hoping to join a local club next season.

Looking forward to learning from you all. Any other Aussies here?

Welcome mate! Good to see another Aussie on here.

I’m up in Queensland. Been racing for 14 years now.

Victoria has some great clubs. Which area are you in? I might be able to point you to a good one.

Biggest challenge down here is the heat. Make sure your loft has good ventilation and always have fresh water available. Our summers are brutal on the birds.

Welcome James! I’m across the ditch in NZ.

Aussie racing is top notch. You’ve got some great bloodlines down there and the competition is strong.

Take your time learning before you race. Better to have confident, well-trained birds than to rush them and lose them.
