Need to move my loft about 30 meters to a different spot in my yard. Construction reasons.
Will my birds adjust or do I need to resettle them like new birds? It’s the same property just different corner.
30 meters on same property? They should adjust fine.
Suggestion:
- Confine them for 3-5 days after move
- Let them out hungry first time
- Stay visible and call with feed
- First few releases, be present to guide them
They already know the area, just need to update their “home spot” coordinates. Much easier than true resettling.
Did this last year, moved mine about 20 meters. Two days confinement was enough for my birds.
They circled a bit the first day out, looked confused, but found the new spot quickly. No issues after that.
