Bit of a sensitive question but I need to cull some birds. Got too many and some aren’t performing.
What do most people do? Is giving them away okay or is that just passing the problem on? Don’t really want to… you know.
How do you handle this?

Several options:
Giving away isn’t “passing the problem on” if the new owner wants them. A non-racing bird can still be someone’s pet or breeder for a different purpose.
I advertise “free to good home” on local pigeon groups. Usually gone within days.
Some people want pigeons for magic shows, dove releases, or just as pets. They don’t care about racing bloodlines.
Never had trouble rehoming birds.
This is part of the sport that no one talks about but everyone deals with.
Do what you’re comfortable with. There’s no wrong answer as long as it’s humane.
Just don’t keep birds you don’t want. An overcrowded loft helps no one.
