White spots in mouth - canker?

Checking birds and found one with small white spots in the mouth. Is this early canker?

Not the big yellow cheese lumps I’ve seen pictures of.

Small white spots could be:

  • Early canker (yes)
  • Pox lesions (wet pox in mouth)
  • Yeast infection (thrush)
  • Vitamin A deficiency

Canker spots are slightly raised and cheesy texture. Pox are more like blisters.

Treat for canker first - if it doesn’t respond, reconsider diagnosis.
