Young bird sickness every year

Every year my young birds get sick around 8-10 weeks. Respiratory symptoms, going light.

Treated with antibiotics and they recover, but I’m tired of it. How do I prevent YBS instead of just treating it?

YBS prevention:

  1. Don’t overcrowd young bird section
  2. Excellent ventilation
  3. Gradual stress exposure (short tosses, basket training)
  4. Some fanciers vaccinate for circovirus
  5. Build natural immunity - don’t over-medicate healthy birds

The trigger is usually stress + underlying infection. Reduce stress, reduce outbreaks.
